I still remember how we all grew up in synagogue together, learning about the Sovereignty of God and how, during Passover, we leave an open seat at the table, and we open the door for Elijah to show up and proclaim our redemption and the coming Messiah.
I spent the first half of my life wondering if our Messiah would ever show up. And then, on April 12th, 1987 (30 years ago)—He did. Seriously, He did. He came and introduced Himself to me, and He helped me understand the words in my Bat Mitzvah Bible (Jeremiah 31:31: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel.”) And, suddenly, all of the pieces of my life came together . . .
To be continued.
